I watched this really great video from Bob Gatzen on YouTube about tuning your bass drum. I followed his direction and the kick on our set at church now BOOMS (Prairie Ridge - I play with Kasey and Adam there)! I love the sound. Before I tightened up to much. This dude teaches to barely tightens it to LPP (lowest possible pitch), and it makes a big difference. I like that thick boom. I also purchased a new resonate (outer) head with a muffling ring around the hole like he mentions. I have never purchased an resonate head for the bass before, but it actually made a huge difference. I was quite surprised. If you want to keep that Tayo logo, they sell kits to cut a hole and line it with a muffler. Anyway, have fun with the new set!
